Yunnan Black

This non-smoky tea comes in GFOP and TGFOP grades and is one of China’s “noble” varieties.  It is one of the rare teas to combine aroma with strength, subtlety with rich taste.  Full and round, it is known as the “mocha of teas”.

With a fine golden liquor and a taste that remains long in the mouth, Yunnan will tolerate a drop of milk and can be drunk at any time of day.  It is especially delicious after a meal.

Yunnan Province is situated in the SW of China, where legend has it that tea originated.  Some of the tea trees in Yunnan are said to be more than a thousand years old!

To enjoy at its best put one teaspoon per person in a warmed pot and add fresh boiling water.  Allow to brew for for 4 mins, strain into cups or mugs and drink black or with a little milk.
