A special Afternoon Tea will be served at The Ritz today and even Santa is expected to make an appearance.
Tea will be served at 13.30, 15.30 and 17.30 sharp and revellers will be treated to the best champagne, finely cut sandwiches, scones, jam and clotted cream and a selection of delicate pastries. Merry old Saint Nicholas will also be making an appearance to hand out presents to some lucky children.
A formal dress code will be observed in all public areas of the elegant hotel, with gentlemen required to wear a jacket and tie. Jeans and trainers are strictly prohibited!
Opening in 1906, The Ritz still maintains its allure and remains one of the most popular attractions in London. Detailed throughout in the Louis XVI style, the magnificent hotel still serves traditional afternoon tea in the sumptuously decorated Palm Court.
In 2009 The Ritz received an award of excellence in recognition of its outstanding quality and high standards in tea service. The Tea Guild’s Top London Afternoon Tea 2009 Awards are a much coveted prize and the prestigious event is the Michelin star of the tea world. The award was presented to twelve outstanding tea rooms, with The Ritz picking up the award for the fifth year running.
