Nepal
Nepal's teas are fruity, delicate, refreshing, fragrant and have a distinct Muscatel character. Sound familiar? Well, yes - Nepal's teas are often mistaken for Darjeelings, and like Darjeeling there are four flushes - 1st, 2nd, monsoon and autumnal. Andrew Gadsden, the Saviour of Tea, is extremely fond of Nepalese teas and it is a safe bet that here at All About Tea.co.uk we will be increasing our range of these fantastic and little-known teas in the near future!
Nepal’s climate is ideal for growing tea. This tiny, breathtakingly beautiful kingdom lies between 3000 and 7000 feet above sea level. Its steep, well-drained, mineral-rich soils, pure unpolluted mountain air and water, and moist, cool climate favour the production of small quantities of high-quality tea. This is a high-grown TGFOP1 tea, with a brisk and rounded flavour and a bright liquor.
