Moroccan Mint
Green tea – exclusively China green tea - blended with mint has been part of the North African way of life for many years.
Our Moroccan Mint calls to mind the bazaars of Rabat, the capital city, where no business can be transacted without the preparation of several glasses of mint tea – a complex and time-consuming process.
Moroccan Mint is a blend of China Gunpowder tea with Peppermint for a brighter and deliciously different flavour. For a more traditional taste, try our Tuareg Mint Tea, a smoother version made with Spearmint.
To brew, place one tsp per person in a warmed pot and add fresh, boiled water that has been allowed to cool for one minute. Brew for 3 mins and serve without milk. You can re-infuse the leaves several times.
To prepare in the traditional way, put the tea in the pot, rinse with boiling water and discard the water. Add sugar, pour on fresh boiling water and brew for 3 mins. Pour some tea into a glass then back into the pot 2 or 3 times to mix the tea. Taste, then pour into glasses from a height to froth the tea. At least 3 glasses are usually drunk.
