Jade Pillars
Jade Pillars

From £39.60

Jade Pillar consists of the finest, downy leaves from young tea plants less than 5 years old.

It comes from a charming region called Simao, in the Yunnan Province in South China.  Jade Pillar is usually classified as a White tea, though technically it is green.

The tea gets its name from the way the leaves are individually and painstakingly hand-rolled into tube or pillar shapes.  Then they are dried using the pan-frying method.  The skill of the tea-maker during this phase of processing lies in matching the temperature of the pan to the moisture content of the leaves.

Jade Pillar produces a delicate, light liquor with a translucent pale yellow tint.  The flavour is sweet and crystal clear, with pleasant Jasmine notes evident and a strongly floral character.

China Pai Mu Tan
China Pai Mu Tan

From £19.80

Pai Mu Tan is named after the beautiful white petals of the White Peony.    With its very large greenish white leaves, natural shape, pleasant and refreshing fragrance and light, bright liquor, Pai Mu Tan is one of the great teas not just of China but of the world.

Pai Mu Tan is produced in the Zheng Huo County in China’s Fujian Province from one bud and one to two leaves.  A special varietal of tea – Narcissus or Chaicha - is used for white tea production.  The farming, plucking and processing follow ancient tradition.

No frying and rubbing is used in the processing, only natural wilting and drying in the sun.  This makes Pai Mu Tan one of the most natural and unprocessed teas in the world.
